High and clear to a good end is a blessing formula: 朗 in a name is brightness that does not cloud over at the finish.
「高朗令终」是祝辞：又高又亮，一直到善终。名字用「朗」，取的是这个「始终都清亮」。

Light like a mirror
天庭明兮云霓藏，三光朗兮镜万方。
The sky is bright and the clouds withdraw; sun, moon and stars shine like a mirror on everything.

这里的「朗」是三光照下来、什么都照得见的那种亮——不是柔和，是照得清楚。
